Weekly drop-in swing dance class in
'Collegiate Shag'

This week's guest teachers: Jim & Nicky!

A Shag Pile special for the 'Mind The Shag' weekend, we've invited Jim & Nicky  to join us and share their knowledge as long time UK shag scene leaders.

This is a drop in class, so no experience needed - we'll start with a warm-up and introduction, before moving on to the key ideas that underpin the dance, before adding fancy moves that extend your repertoire.

Two classes are planned as one to give maximum content and a smooth learning curve. A break in the middle gives us all a half time breather!

Times and prices

6.30 - Doors open, registration, chat and change
7pm - Beginners / improvers (please arrive early to allow 7pm start)
8pm - Improvers / intermediates
9pm - Well earned drinks and chit chat!

1 hour: £7 (£12 couples)
2 hours: £10 (£18 couples)

Clothing

Shag can be bouncy at first, so we recommend comfortable clothing suitable for moderate exercise. A couple of layers help air circulate and reduce heat, but bring a small towel in case things get sweaty.

Flat tennis shoes with a cushioned insole are good, but everyone has a preference. Bring a spare pair if in doubt.

Food & Drink:

Water is available at the venue - Please note that alcohol is not permitted in The Hall
Hot and cold are available in The Gallery Cafe before class - and at the pub after!

Find us:

The Hall - Through the gallery Cafe
St Margaret's House Settlement,
21 Old Ford Road.

Bethnal Green tube (central line) is 5 minutes from the venue.
