Shag Pile: First Shag of 2016!

Weekly Swing Dance drop-in class, with introduction for beginners, tips for improvers, and smooth moves for connoisseurs.

No partner or prior experience required!

Starting with the basics as a warm-up, each week we look at the rhythms, footwork, styling and energy saving tricks that underpin 'collegiate' shag.

We then move on to cover a wide variety of moves and fancier, more challenging sequences.

6.30 - Doors open, registration and change shoes
7pm - Beginners / improvers (please arrive early enough to allow start at 7pm)
8pm - Improvers / intermediates
9pm - Well earned drinks!

1 hour: £7 (£12 couples)
2 hours: £10 (£18 couples)
We aim for a smooth learning curve, so if you can manage one hour you should be able to manage two.

Find us:
St Margaret's House Settlement,
21 Old Ford Road.
The Hall is through the Gallery Cafe, out the back door, into the garden, and on the right. Follow the trail of flyers!

Shag can be bouncy to start with, so we recommend you wear comfortable clothing suitable for moderate exercise.
Bring a spare pair of shoes if in doubt - flat tennis shoes with a cushioned insole are good, but everyone has a preference.
Bring a small towel and wear a couple of layers in case things get sweaty!
